VI POLISH FORUM FOR NON-GOVERNMENTAL INITIATIVES
The main aim of the Forum is to meet non-governmental organizations, civic initiatives and people engaged in them. The idea behind the Polish Forum for Non-Governmental Initiatives is to integrate non-governmental communities and to discuss Third Sector important issues. It should also be the opportunity to establish dialogue, to share experience and reflections about the development of the civic society and about the role of cooperative citizens in it.

The 6th Polish Forum for Non-Governmental Initiatives should be the time of sharing and an occasion for discussions engaging not only people working in non-governmental organizations, but also local councils, people cooperating with public administration, with science and academic community, with the media or with business.

The Polish Forum for Non-Governmental Initiatives is also a perfect opportunity to present the output and the diversity of non-governmental organizations and people working in them. Their output will be shown to the participants of the Forum, but also to the citizens of Warsaw through an open form of the Citizens’ Week. With the help of the media, we will try to reach the public opinion and to present a various range of active citizens' works.

The 6th Polish Forum for Non-Governmental Initiatives will take place on September 10th - 17th, 2011 in Warsaw. It will include two main parts – the conference and the Citizens’ Week, which will be summarize by The Picnic of Non-Governmental Organizations.

CONFERENCE
The conference of the 6th Polish Forum for Non-Governmental Initiatives, will be held at Warsaw University's Main Campus, on September 16th -17th, 2011. As in previous editions, this year's Forum will be the perfect time and occasion to discuss the most important Third Sector issues. The conference is held under the patronage of Her Magnificence, Chancellor of the University of Warsaw, Prof. Katarzyna Chałasińska-Macukow.

The first day of the sessions will be devoted to a reflection on the condition of Third Sector in Poland. At the morning plenary sessions we will be dealing with "horizontal" issues concerning the whole Third Sector with the government and local government representatives. In the afternoon similar topics will be treated during a few parallel branch session, which will welcome the representatives of organisations undertaking activities on the topic. The first day of the conference will be prepared by the Association for the Forum for Non-Governmental Initiatives, by the Organising Committee with the support of institutions and organisations taking responsibility for the branch sessions.

Second day of the conference will be devoted entirely to the branch sessions, prepared by the individual organisations.
Also this year we would like to have the opportunity to meet for informal talks held in little groups. For this reason we have planned 45-minute breakfast meetings, which will take place in the morning of the 2nd day of the conference, right before the sessions. We would like to give them the form of a real breakfast meeting, that is why we will provide you with coffee and marmalade rolls. These meetings can take various forms; starting from a discussion with an expert speaking about his specialisation (for instance: promotion, local media, fund-raising), to finish with informal discussions on various, even very specific, freely chosen subjects, which will engage all participants of the Polish Forum for Non-Governmental Initiatives.
The detailed programme of the conference is attached to this document.

NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS' PICNIC
Non-Governmental Organizations' Picnic will be the closing event of the Citizens’ Week in Warsaw. It will take place ion Saturday September 17th, 2011. The main aim of the Picnic is to show to a broad spectrum of people the diversity of activities which non-governmental organizations undertake.

Some 80 Polish non-governmental organizations will have the opportunity to present at the party their realms of activity, to encourage visitors to take part in their performances, workshops, happenings and also to inspire them to take an active role in citizen initiatives.

The program of the Picnic includes a selection of open-air shows which will be presented by theatrical non-governmental organizations.
